Dr. Sketchy's March 2010

March Sketchies. I added a splash of digital color to the last one, not wanting to forget all of the details.

Strawberry Pinup by *lilfirebender on deviantART

Mini Pinup in Red by *lilfirebender on deviantART

A couple of little pinups done in marker on small bristol paper.

One of my friends sent me an instructional book on copic markers and they have helped my marker blending and coloring skills immensely. Fun stuff.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse in my own style. I've re-dressed them for a Michigan winter. <3

This is my remake of the classic cover. http://www.lambiek.net/comics/disneyartists/disney_artist_mickey-mouse.jpg

For sale in the covered gallery for $75. I believe I already have a buyer, but feel free to send me an email (lilfirebender@mi.rr.com) if you're interested in purchasing the framed original, in case the current deal falls through.

Commissioned design for Poshlife.net

Tori makes custom crystal faceplates and skins for cell phones, laptops and other accessories. You'll love her designs.

This is her Posh Girl! So much fun to design.

Sketched with graphite and mechanical pencil on cardstock. Inked and colored digitally.

Also,
I had a great time at the Covered gallery opening at Green Brain Comics. I need to post that piece soon. It looks like I already have a buyer for it! <3

Dr. Sketchy's

December Dr. Sketchy's! (finally!)

Um, these were all 10-15 minute sketches drawn with live models (yay!). The ink and color were added later, maybe an extra 15 min. each.

The red-head is Lushes LaMoan and the brunette is Radiant Lenore. They are not only beautiful models, but incredibly sweet and funny, too.

As usual, the December Sketchy's was loads of fun. I had the chance to stick around longer this time and meet more of the artists. If you have a minute, I highly recommend that you stop by my local sketchy's blog and check out some of the other artists sketches of the event. Blogsite: http://drsketchydetroit.blogspot.com/

I still have more full body sketches of Radiant Lenore and a couple of group shots that I'll try to finish later.

Mechanical pencil, graphite, ink, and copic marker on cardstock.

Stresssss

Finals Ahhh!
I took my math final today. Over 4 hours of college algebra equations. :( My brain still hurts...and so does my head. I'm just SO tense. Still considering going for a jog or something to work some of the stress off.
I did manage to get a 94.6 or something. So, I'll get an A in class and that makes me happy. It feels like a low score for a final, but I think that's cause I usually have loooong papers instead of math tests and get 100's.

I still have my pseudocode final to work on. Hopefully with what I have done, it will only take 2 days to finish. I don't think I can handle another short weekend after the stress of finals.

Movies
We took the kids and Christopher's friend to see Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs last Saturday. It was really funny. We all loved it. Go see it. I've been itching to do a fanart for it, but I still have too much commission stuff going on first.

Forum
Still working on the 4NA forum for roleplay in the Modern Avatar world, loosely based on my comic. It's come a long way. There's still a LOT to do and set up, but I hope to have it running sometime before the holidays.
